What We Do

How the ISCP works to safeguard children and young people across the islands.

The ISCP enhances the safety of children and young people in the islands through promoting effective co-ordination and co-operation between agencies providing services to children and families.

Multi-Agency Co-ordination

We bring together representatives from education, health, law enforcement, social services, and the voluntary sector to ensure a joined-up approach to safeguarding.

Procedures and Guidance

The ISCP develops and maintains comprehensive multi-agency safeguarding procedures. These cover everything from initial concerns through to referral and child protection processes.

Training

We offer training at multiple levels: basic awareness (e-learning), safeguarding children (general principles), working together (multi-agency processes), and specialist focus workshops on key safeguarding themes.

Case Reviews

When a child has died or been seriously harmed, we conduct case reviews to identify lessons that could improve multi-agency working and help prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Public Awareness

We promote awareness of safeguarding issues across the community, helping everyone understand their role in keeping children safe.
