Report a Concern

If you are worried about a child, it is important to report your concern as soon as possible.

In an emergency where you are worried a child may be hurt, dial 999 and ask for the police.

How to Report

If you are a member of the public who has concerns about a child's welfare or safety in Guernsey or Alderney:

  • Call the Multi Agency Support Hub (MASH) on 01481 223182 during office hours.
  • Out of office hours, contact the Emergency Duty Team on 01481 222222.
  • If it is an emergency, please call the police on 999 or 112.

For Professionals

If you are a professional and have concerns about a child or unborn baby, refer to the MASH. You can also use the Multi Agency Referral Form (MARF) and send it to MultiAgencySupportHub@gov.gg.

If you are aware that the child has a social worker you should contact them directly.

What Happens Next

When a referral is accepted by the MASH, they will carry out an assessment of the information received. If this assessment indicates a low level of concern, the case might be referred to a single agency to help the family. Where the child is in need of services from more than one agency a lead professional will be identified.
