How to Report Abuse

If you suspect an adult is being abused or neglected, find out how to report your concerns.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

Reporting a Concern

If you are worried about an adult who may be at risk of abuse or neglect, you can contact the Multi-Agency Support Hub (MASH) to discuss your concerns.

During office hours (Monday to Friday, 8.45am — 5.00pm), call 01481 723182.

Out of hours, contact the Emergency Duty Team on 01481 725241.

What Information to Provide

When making a report, try to provide as much information as possible:

  • Details of the adult at risk — name, age, address if known.
  • What has happened or what you are concerned about.
  • Whether the person is in immediate danger.
  • Any details about the person causing the harm.
  • Your own contact details (you can report anonymously, but it may limit the response).

What Happens After You Report

The MASH will assess the information and determine the most appropriate response. This may involve social work assessment, police investigation, or referral to other support services.
